What should I do if I have contractions with placenta previa?
Disease description:
Went to the hospital for examination, and the doctor diagnosed placenta previa with contractions occurring. What should be done if contractions occur with placenta previa?
What to do when placenta previa is accompanied by uterine contractions depends on the patient's specific condition. For pregnant women with gestational age less than 36 weeks, viable fetus, good general condition, minimal bleeding, no need for emergency delivery, and not yet fully in labor, oral medications such as magnesium sulfate or ritodrine may be administered to ensure maternal and fetal safety. If there is vaginal bleeding, gestational age exceeds 36 weeks, or fetal distress is present, immediate cesarean section is recommended. Regardless of gestational age, once severe bleeding occurs, surgery must be performed immediately to terminate the pregnancy.
