Recently, I've been experiencing mild irritation and pain on my tongue. After a hospital checkup, the doctor diagnosed me with migratory glossitis. This is the first time I've heard of this condition. How is migratory glossitis treated?

Dr. Zhang Liwen
Migratory glossitis may not require specific treatment and generally has a good prognosis. For patients with factors such as anxiety, psychological counseling can be provided to alleviate their fears. Patients with geographic tongue should avoid consuming hot, spicy, acidic, or hard foods to minimize irritation. Oral vitamin B supplements may also be considered for treatment. Cases of geographic tongue without obvious symptoms may require no intervention.
