High school students often experience nosebleeds.
Disease description:
Ever since starting high school, my child has been experiencing frequent nosebleeds. I don't know what's causing it and would like to know why high school students often have nosebleeds.
In such cases, epistaxis may be caused by atrophic rhinitis; hemostasis can usually be achieved by partial nasal packing or electrocoagulation of the bleeding artery. In some patients, the cause may be nasopharyngeal angiofibroma or nasal hemangioma. Rarely, epistaxis is due to leukemia, thrombocytopenia, or coagulation disorders. The specific etiology varies among individuals.
