Aftereffects of water intoxication
Disease description:
Recently, I experienced a mild case of water intoxication. A friend mentioned that complications might arise later on. I would like to know what the aftereffects of water intoxication are.
For mild cases of water intoxication, symptoms can spontaneously resolve by restricting fluid intake or promoting the excretion of excess water through diuretics. The prognosis is generally favorable, with no long-term sequelae. However, in severe cases of water intoxication, failure to provide prompt and effective treatment may result in permanent neurological damage.
