What are the early symptoms of rickets in newborns?
Disease description:
My nephew is much shorter and thinner than children of the same age. I'm worried he might have rickets. What are the early symptoms of rickets in newborns?
In the early stages of rickets in newborns, children are generally weak and may exhibit symptoms such as daily crying, anxiety, difficulty sleeping, and frequent waking. If the condition is severe, most children show signs of pigeon chest (pectus carinatum). Excessive sweating on the scalp often causes itching and discomfort; infants frequently shaking their heads can lead to hair loss. Children's hair may also become sparse and appear dry and yellowish.
