The symptoms of brainstem hemorrhage vary depending on the individual patient's condition. In mild cases, patients may remain conscious but experience headache, neck pain, impaired eye movement, facial paralysis, slurred speech, choking while swallowing, or hemiplegia. In more severe cases, patients may lose consciousness and even die rapidly. Hemorrhage in the medulla oblongata is relatively rare but can cause sudden falls, altered consciousness, and arrhythmias. Once symptoms of brainstem hemorrhage appear, emergency medical treatment should be sought immediately to prevent life-threatening complications.
