What to do for traumatic brain injury
Disease description:
The test results are out, showing that I have a brain injury. I don't want to remain like this—I want to get better. What should I do for a brain injury?
Traumatic brain injury may require surgical treatment. If the bleeding caused by head trauma is minimal, and the depressed skull fracture is less than 1 cm deep, accompanied by cerebrospinal fluid leakage and facial nerve injury, conservative management may be appropriate. However, surgery should be considered if there are symptoms such as intracranial hemorrhage, epilepsy, persistent cerebrospinal fluid leakage that fails to heal over time, or facial nerve transection.
