How are the sequelae of stroke graded?
Disease description:
My paternal grandfather has facial and eye distortion, hemiplegia, and after regaining consciousness, often experiences sequelae such as limb convulsions, or even opisthotonus, as the main symptoms. We went to the hospital for an examination, but the doctor didn't provide any feedback. How are post-stroke sequelae graded?
Post-stroke sequelae are classified into three levels. Primary prevention can prevent stroke. Generally, the risk is not very high at this stage. Secondary prevention involves individuals who already have risk factors and, depending on the progression of their condition, may experience transient ischemic attacks if warning signs of stroke appear. Tertiary prevention focuses on treatment during the acute or early phase of stroke, which might be more severe. It is recommended to implement early control measures to reduce the degree of disability.
