Generally speaking, cerebral hemorrhage in the elderly is mostly caused by hypertension. In other words, it is influenced by conditions or unhealthy habits such as high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, and hyperlipidemia. These factors persist in the blood vessels over time, easily leading to the formation of calcified plaques or lipid accumulation, which narrows the blood vessels or causes arteriosclerosis. Occasionally, during stressful situations—such as emotional excitement or straining during bowel movements—blood pressure may sharply rise, causing blood vessels to lose elasticity, become more brittle, and eventually rupture, resulting in cerebral hemorrhage. These are very common scenarios and must be taken seriously.
