What causes cerebral hemorrhage?
Disease description:
An elderly family member fell at home, and the hospital diagnosed a cerebral hemorrhage. I would like to ask, what causes cerebral hemorrhage?
Hemorrhagic stroke is commonly known as "cerebral hemorrhage." Why does cerebral hemorrhage occur? It must be due to disruption of vascular integrity, causing cracks in the blood vessel walls. There are several underlying causes involving arteries and veins. The most common arterial cause is cerebral arteriosclerosis resulting from hypertension; the next is various types of vasculitis that lead to rupture of brain vessels. Additionally, there are cases of vascular malformations that, under long-term hemodynamic stress, develop aneurysms which may rupture and cause cerebral hemorrhage. Venous causes also exist. The primary venous condition is cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. After occlusion, blood cannot flow back effectively and accumulates within the cerebral vessels.
