How long after a hysterosalpingography can one undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF)?
Disease description:
I've been married for several years without having a child due to blocked fallopian tubes. I recently underwent a hysterosalpingography, but I'm not sure when I can proceed with in vitro fertilization (IVF). So, how long after a hysterosalpingography can I do IVF?
One month after a hysterosalpingography (HSG), in vitro fertilization (IVF) can be performed. Hysterosalpingography is a diagnostic procedure that allows assessment of the condition of the fallopian tubes and has relatively minimal impact on the body. Therefore, unless there are special contraindications, IVF may be attempted following HSG. If tubal blockage is detected during the HSG, timely intervention to clear the tubes should be performed, after which IVF can proceed once the body has recovered. Prior to undergoing IVF, ovulation-inducing injections are administered. After these injections, eggs are retrieved and the best-quality embryos are transferred into the uterus. Following IVF, adequate rest is essential, and patients should attend scheduled follow-up examinations at the hospital as directed.
