How to confirm that the fallopian tubes are open
Recently, I wanted to get my fallopian tubes checked. I would like to ask the doctor how to confirm whether the fallopian tubes are open.

To confirm whether the fallopian tubes are patent, the following methods are commonly used:
1. Hysterosalpingography: This is the most commonly used method. A radiopaque contrast agent is injected through the cervix, and X-ray images are taken to observe the flow of the contrast medium within the uterus and fallopian tubes, thereby determining whether the tubes are patent.
2. Fallopian tube patency test (Tubal insufflation): By injecting normal saline or medication into the fallopian tubes, the pressure and resistance during injection are observed to assess the patency of the tubes.
3. Ultrasound examination of the fallopian tubes: High-frequency ultrasound is used to observe the morphology and peristalsis of the fallopian tubes, thus determining their patency.
4. Laparoscopy: This is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that allows direct visualization of the tubal ostia, lumen, and fimbrial ends to determine whether they are patent.
5. Hysteroscopy: Although primarily used for examining the uterine cavity, in some cases it can also indirectly assess fallopian tube patency when combined with a tubal patency test.
Each method has its own indications and limitations, and the most appropriate method should be selected based on the patient's specific condition.
