What are the symptoms of chronic salpingitis?
Disease description:
A friend of mine goes to the hospital for regular checkups every year. Today, during a hospital visit, the doctor diagnosed her with chronic salpingitis. What are the symptoms of chronic salpingitis?
Chronic salpingitis may lead to tubal obstruction and ectopic pregnancy. Long-term blockage of the fallopian tubes can result in hydrosalpinx, which may cause adnexal masses and secondary infertility, thereby affecting female fertility. If hydrosalpinx leads to adhesions involving surrounding organs, tenderness in the bilateral adnexal regions may occur, with pain worsening when resistance decreases. Salpingitis is classified into acute and chronic forms. Acute salpingitis mainly presents with fever, abdominal pain, and abnormal discharge. If acute salpingitis is inadequately treated, it may progress to chronic salpingitis, impairing a woman's fertility.
