Can you ride a bicycle with knee synovitis?
Disease description:
I am a cycling enthusiast, and I have a cycling race coming up in a few weeks. However, I suddenly developed knee synovitis, and I'm not sure when it will heal. Can I ride a bicycle with knee synovitis?
Do not ride a bicycle until bursitis of the knee is completely cured. After recovery, you may ride a bicycle moderately, but the seat should be adjusted to a higher position to reduce friction in the knee joint, and prolonged exercise should be avoided. Patients with bursitis should minimize activities that cause joint friction and should not run too fast. Selective exercises such as practicing Tai Chi or swimming are recommended. Exercise duration should be well controlled; avoid prolonged physical activity, maintain a balance between work and rest, protect the joints, keep warm and prevent cold exposure, reduce dietary irritants, and avoid smoking and drinking alcohol.
