What are the symptoms of traumatic brain injury?

The most common symptoms following traumatic brain injury include headache, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting, often projectile in nature. Some patients may experience retrograde amnesia, with unclear recollection of the injury event, as well as bleeding from the mouth, nose, or ears. Patients may also develop psychiatric symptoms, and in severe cases, impaired consciousness such as irritability, somnolence, or even coma. Another group of patients may develop seizures after trauma, including absence seizures or generalized tonic-clonic seizures.
