What should be done if a person with hemophilia has uncontrollable nosebleeds?
Disease description:
Today, while chatting with my friend, he suddenly had a nosebleed that wouldn't stop. After asking him, I learned that he has hemophilia. I'd like to know what to do when someone with hemophilia has a nosebleed that won't stop.
When hemophilia patients experience uncontrollable nosebleeds, they should not panic. Applying a cold towel or ice pack to the forehead and bridge of the nose can help constrict blood vessels and promote hemostasis. Additionally, pinching both sides of the nostrils together with the fingers and applying pressure for 3–5 minutes may help stop the bleeding. If the bleeding is heavy, it is advisable to seek immediate medical attention for proper treatment by a healthcare professional.
