How to treat rhinitis and nasal congestion
Disease description:
Since I've had rhinitis for a long time and it frequently flares up, causing persistent nasal congestion, how should it be treated?
Nasal congestion due to rhinitis can be treated under a doctor's guidance by using normal saline or saline-containing solutions to irrigate the nasal cavity, effectively clearing secretions and improving nasal airflow. Subsequently, decongestants may be used under medical supervision; commonly prescribed medications include oxymetazoline hydrochloride and xylometazoline hydrochloride. If pharmacological treatment proves ineffective, surgical intervention may be considered.
