Whether a child needs a brain CT scan after a head fall depends on the severity of the injury and the child's response. If the child shows abnormal symptoms such as persistent crying, vomiting, excessive sleepiness, or confusion, medical attention should be sought immediately and a brain CT scan should be considered to rule out intracranial injuries. If the child behaves normally without any unusual reactions, close observation may be sufficient and an immediate brain CT scan is usually not necessary.
