What does aphasia mean?
Disease description:
I've previously heard the term "aphasia" many times, but what exactly does this term mean?
Aphasia refers to a condition in which a person experiences difficulties with language abilities for a certain period, making it hard to express thoughts, communicate normally, or correctly understand others' speech. Aphasia can be classified into developmental aphasia and acquired aphasia. Developmental aphasia occurs when, during the process of physiological development, a person's language abilities fail to develop fully due to certain causes, resulting in impaired language expression and symptoms of aphasia. Acquired aphasia refers to impaired language ability caused by diseases or brain damage, leading to aphasic symptoms. Aphasia is a serious language disorder, and early detection along with appropriate treatment is essential.
