Symptoms of having pinworms in children's stomach
Disease description:
Pediatrics
Roundworms are common parasites that can live in the human body and are transmitted through ingestion or inhalation of feces from infected individuals. Roundworm infections can cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, bloating, vomiting, fever, and loss of appetite. They may also lead to anemia, malnutrition, growth retardation, and other complications. To diagnose a roundworm infection, a stool examination is performed to detect the presence of roundworm eggs or adult worms. If the test confirms the presence of roundworms, antiparasitic medication is prescribed to eliminate the infection. Patients should also improve their hygiene practices to reduce the risk of infection.
