Dr. Yang Ziqi
Pain during a cholecystitis attack can be relieved with analgesics, gastrointestinal decompression, and dietary adjustments; however, medications should be taken under a doctor's guidance. For pain caused by smooth muscle spasm, anticholinergic drugs such as anisodamine may be selected to relieve the spasm and thus alleviate pain. If anticholinergic drugs fail to provide sufficient pain relief, analgesics such as tramadol may be used. In cases where cholecystitis is caused by obstruction of bile in the gallbladder due to impacted stones, some patients may require gastrointestinal decompression or anti-infective treatment for symptom relief. Antibiotic therapy should be administered based on sensitivity testing results.
