If the diameter of gallbladder adenomyomatosis is relatively small, surgery is not necessarily required; however, if the lesion is large, surgery is generally necessary. Gallbladder adenomyomatosis is a benign proliferative disease affecting the gallbladder wall. Patients may experience symptoms such as abdominal pain and nausea, and the condition can lead to thickening of the gallbladder wall. When the lesion is small in diameter, surgical intervention is usually not needed. Instead, patients can be treated under medical supervision with medications such as ursodeoxycholic acid capsules or chenodeoxycholic acid capsules, which help inhibit the growth of adenomyomatosis and prevent disease progression. However, if the lesion is large and causing significant damage to the patient's health, surgical treatment—such as cholecystectomy—is required to effectively control the disease.
