What to Do for Cracked and Peeling Feet

Jul 26, 2021 Source: Cainiu Health
Disease description:

My feet have recently become extremely dry and cracked, with noticeable peeling skin. However, it’s not athlete’s foot (tinea pedis). Every year, my feet are very dry, and although I regularly apply moisturizing skincare products, there’s been no improvement. What can I do about dry, cracked, and peeling feet?

Hello, dry, cracked, and peeling skin on the feet is commonly associated with general skin dryness and vitamin deficiency. Additionally, if you have a pre-existing fungal infection (e.g., athlete’s foot), it may also cause cracking and peeling of the feet. We recommend increasing your intake of vegetables and supplementing with vitamins C and B to help alleviate skin dryness. If the cracking and peeling persist despite vitamin supplementation, a fungal infection should be ruled out, and topical antifungal medication may be warranted. We hope this information is helpful—wishing you good health!
