How to Treat Cracked and Peeling Heels
Disease description:
Lately, I’ve noticed that my heels have been cracking and peeling, but I’m not sure why. Could you please advise on the typical treatment for this condition?
Hello,
During spring, the air tends to be drier with lower humidity, which can exacerbate heel fissures and peeling. Insufficient moisture in the feet, poor peripheral circulation, nutritional deficiencies, and fungal infections are common causes of heel peeling.
To treat heel dryness and cracking, you may soak your feet in white vinegar or warm water, then thoroughly dry them immediately afterward and apply an appropriate moisturizing foot cream. Increasing dietary intake of vitamin A–rich foods is also recommended. Maintaining good personal hygiene is essential. If a fungal infection is suspected, please consult a healthcare provider for proper diagnosis and antifungal medication.
I hope this information is helpful. Wishing you good health!
