Nasal cavity cancer refers to malignant tumors originating in the nasal cavity, most commonly found on the lateral wall of the nasal cavity, such as the middle turbinate, middle meatus, and inferior turbinate. Its development may be associated with genetic factors, viral infections, chronic inflammatory stimulation, malignant transformation of benign tumors, and environmental factors such as exposure to carcinogens. Clinical manifestations of nasal cavity cancer are diverse and include symptoms such as epistaxis (nosebleeds), nasal obstruction, and nasal masses, which are often misdiagnosed. As the disease progresses, patients may experience facial or nasal numbness, a sensation of fullness, persistent and progressive unilateral nasal obstruction, bloody nasal discharge, intractable headaches, and olfactory dysfunction. In advanced stages, the tumor may invade multiple surrounding structures, leading to corresponding clinical symptoms. Treatment of nasal cavity cancer should be tailored according to the histopathological type and clinical stage, and may include surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or a combination of these modalities.
