Do Nabothian cysts require treatment?
For several days, I don't know why, but I've been feeling some pain in my lower back. I went to the hospital and had an ultrasound, which revealed a Nabothian cyst. I'd like to ask, does a Nabothian cyst require treatment?
Whether nabothian cysts require treatment depends on the specific symptoms. If the cyst is small, does not cause significant symptoms, and shows no risk of malignant transformation, conservative observation is usually recommended. This means the patient should have regular medical check-ups at a hospital to monitor any changes in the cyst. However, if symptoms such as increased vaginal discharge, thickened discharge, or abnormal vaginal bleeding outside the menstrual period occur, and if the cyst continues to grow or poses a potential risk of malignancy, active treatment should be pursued.
Surgical treatment is also an option. One common procedure is cervical glandular cyst fenestration. Surgery can effectively remove the cyst, relieve symptoms, and reduce the risk of malignant changes.
