What are the symptoms of endometritis?
Disease description:
I've been about two months post-abortion surgery. Recently, I've noticed a significant increase in vaginal discharge with an unpleasant odor. Could I have endometritis? What are the symptoms of endometritis?
The main symptoms of endometritis include the following:
1. Lower abdominal pain: Patients often experience a sensation of heaviness or dull pain in the lower abdomen, which may worsen during the menstrual cycle. In some patients, pain may intensify after sexual intercourse.
2. Fever: Due to the presence of inflammation, patients may develop elevated body temperature, typically mild to moderate fever. If the condition is not promptly controlled, it may progress to high fever.
3. Abnormal vaginal discharge: Inflammatory stimulation can lead to increased secretion from the endometrial glands, resulting in excessive vaginal discharge that may be watery, thin, pale yellow, or blood-tinged. The discharge may sometimes have a fishy odor.
