What foods are good for excessive liver fire?
Disease description:
I've been feeling emotionally unstable and irritable these past couple of days, possibly due to excessive liver fire. What foods are good for excessive liver fire?
When liver fire is excessive, it is recommended to regulate the body by consuming the following foods:
1. Fruits: such as watermelon, apple, grape, banana, plum, strawberry, water chestnut, and pear. These fruits are rich in water and vitamins, which help nourish yin and reduce internal heat.
2. Vegetables: such as mung beans and lettuce. Mung beans clear heat, detoxify the body, promote diuresis, and relieve summer heat; lettuce is slightly cold in nature and helps clear heat, regulate qi flow, and resolve phlegm.
3. Teas: chrysanthemum tea, cassia seed tea, and prunella tea. These teas help purge liver fire. In particular, chrysanthemum tea can dispel wind-heat, subdue hyperactive liver yang, and clear the liver to improve vision.
4. Congees: such as chrysanthemum congee, celery congee, and silver ear fungus with lotus seed congee. These congee dishes are not only nutritious but also effective in reducing fire and detoxifying the body.
