Symptoms of excessive dampness in the body
Disease description:
I went to a traditional Chinese medicine hospital for a checkup, and the doctor said I have excessive dampness in my body. What are the symptoms of excessive dampness in the body?
Symptoms of excessive dampness in the body:
1. Abnormal bowel movements: Individuals with excessive dampness often have loose, unformed stools that are sticky in texture. This is a direct manifestation of dampness accumulating in the intestines.
2. Oral sensations: People with excessive dampness commonly experience a sticky feeling in the mouth, leaving it feeling unclean. They may also feel nausea or even vomit while brushing their teeth.
3. Physical sensations: Excessive dampness causes a heavy sensation in the body, particularly a feeling of heaviness in the head and torso, often accompanied by dizziness, a foggy head, and persistent sleepiness. The limbs may also feel heavy and sluggish, with reluctance to move, and in some cases, limited joint mobility.
4. Decreased appetite: Dampness impairs the spleen and disrupts its function of transformation and transportation, leading to poor appetite, a sticky mouth, and feelings of nausea during meals.
5. Skin manifestations: Individuals with excessive dampness tend to have oily facial skin, frequent acne breakouts, and oily hair. Additionally, they may develop bodily edema and dull, lackluster skin.
6. Abnormal tongue coating: The tongue coating of individuals with excessive dampness is typically thick and greasy, possibly yellow or white and腻 (sticky-coating). The tongue body is often swollen and enlarged, with teeth marks along the edges.
