I usually wear double eyelid tapes when I put on makeup, but sometimes they're still very noticeable. So I decided to get double eyelid surgery. It's been 5 days now, and the swelling has mostly gone down. I'd like to ask: on which day after surgery is it best to have the stitches removed?

The optimal time for suture removal after double eyelid surgery primarily depends on the healing of the incision site. Generally, sutures are removed between 5 to 7 days after surgery.
1. Fast wound healing: If the wound heals quickly without infection or other complications, sutures can be removed around 5 days post-surgery. By this time, swelling has usually begun to subside and the wound is essentially healed.
2. Slow wound healing: If healing is delayed, or if there are special circumstances such as infection or poor skin condition, suture removal may need to be postponed, although it generally should not exceed 7 days. Delaying removal too long may lead to adhesions or other issues.
Additionally, proper local care after suture removal is important to prevent infection and other complications.
