Is abdominal liposuction painful?

Disease description:

In recent years, probably due to reduced physical activity, I've been gaining more and more excess body fat, especially around the abdomen, which is turning into a "swimming ring." A friend suggested I try abdominal liposuction, but since it's still a minor surgical procedure, I'm wondering—will abdominal liposuction be very painful?

Abdominal liposuction involves some degree of pain, but it is generally tolerable for most people. During the procedure, anesthesia is used, so patients do not feel pain while the surgery is being performed. Within the first 24 hours after surgery, as the anesthetic effect has not completely worn off, discomfort remains minimal. After about 24 hours, as the anesthesia gradually subsides, patients may begin to experience soreness or a tingling sensation, which is considered a normal part of the recovery process. For individuals who are more sensitive to pain, it is possible to request the doctor to administer additional anesthetic during the procedure. Additionally, postoperative measures such as taking pain medication or receiving abdominal massage can help alleviate discomfort. However, it is important to note that any medication should only be used under the guidance of a physician.
