How is early-stage pulmonary edema treated?
Disease description:
I've been feeling a bit of cough today. After examination, the doctor said it's early-stage pulmonary edema. May I ask how it should be treated?
The early treatment of pulmonary effusion mainly includes the following measures:
1. Medication: Mild pulmonary effusion can be treated with diuretics such as spironolactone to promote fluid excretion and reduce cardiac load. If the condition is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, anti-tuberculosis drugs such as ethambutol hydrochloride tablets should also be administered.
2. Physical therapy: Oxygen therapy is a form of physical treatment that provides high-concentration oxygen to correct hypoxemia and improve tissue hypoxia in the lungs.
3. General management: Patients should get adequate rest during treatment and pay attention to nutritional support. Consuming high-protein foods such as milk and eggs is recommended to enhance physical condition and promote recovery.
4. Surgical intervention: In cases of significant fluid accumulation, procedures such as thoracentesis or intercostal tube drainage may be considered to directly remove the accumulated fluid.
Patients with concerns should seek timely medical consultation.
