Can an N95 mask be washed and reused?
Disease description:
Due to the pandemic recently, I purchased N95 masks myself. I'd like to ask: can an N95 mask be washed and reused?

N95 respirators are not recommended for reuse after washing. N95 respirators can filter at least 95% of non-oily particles, including dust and microorganisms. Although N95 respirators may be reused under specific circumstances, conventional cleaning methods—such as rinsing with water or washing with soap—may damage their filtration capacity. If there is concern about disease transmission from reuse, it is recommended to dispose of the mask after a single use. If reuse is necessary, ensure the mask is not damaged, wet, or contaminated, and avoid touching the inside of the mask with hands to prevent contamination. Methods such as disinfection with ultraviolet lamps or wiping with alcohol may also impair the mask's filtering effectiveness and should be performed with caution. Maintaining the cleanliness and integrity of the respirator is crucial for its protective performance.
