How to Repair Acne Scars on the Face

Disease description:

I used to frequently break out with acne on my face. Sometimes, I couldn’t resist squeezing them a few times. Now, the resulting acne scars (pits) are extremely noticeable. I initially assumed they would gradually flatten over time, but unfortunately, they haven’t improved at all—just looking in the mirror makes me feel particularly frustrated. I’d like to know how to repair these acne scars.

Hello, When treating post-acne marks (hyperpigmentation), the choice of treatment depends on both the size and color of the marks. If the marks appear black or dark brown, phototherapy—specifically red and blue light therapy—may be recommended under a physician’s guidance. This therapy alters cellular structure and creates an optimal microenvironment for new cell growth, thereby effectively improving post-acne pigmentation. However, red and blue light therapy tends to be relatively expensive. For erythematous (red) post-acne marks, this modality is generally unnecessary. Instead, under medical supervision, topical medical-grade skincare products containing niacinamide may be applied to the affected areas to support melanin metabolism. We hope this information is helpful. Wishing you good health!
