Can symptoms of orchitis heal on their own?
Disease description:
I've been diagnosed with orchitis, but I currently don't feel any obvious discomfort and think it might get better without treatment. Can orchitis symptoms resolve on their own?

Whether symptoms of orchitis can resolve spontaneously depends on the severity of the condition. In general, symptoms of orchitis usually do not resolve on their own. Although mild orchitis theoretically has the potential to self-resolve, such cases are rare. Even mild orchitis may gradually progress to chronic orchitis, causing long-term health consequences for the patient. Acute orchitis, especially when presenting obvious symptoms such as testicular swelling, pain, and fever, typically requires prompt treatment with antibiotic medications to prevent further deterioration. If acute orchitis is not treated in time, it may develop into chronic orchitis, which then requires long-term infection control and, when necessary, intravenous anti-inflammatory therapy.
