What are the symptoms of orchitis, and what causes it?
Disease description:
Recently, there has been some redness and swelling in the testicular area. After a hospital examination, it was diagnosed as orchitis. What are the symptoms of orchitis, and what causes it?

The main symptoms of orchitis include:
1. Local symptoms: such as redness and swelling of the scrotal skin, testicular pain and swelling. The testicles may become red and warm to the touch, and the pain may radiate to the groin or lower abdomen.
2. Systemic symptoms: may be accompanied by systemic toxic symptoms such as high fever, chills, and cold intolerance.
3. Sexual dysfunction: may lead to a decline in male sexual function, such as erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and reduced libido.
The primary causes of orchitis are:
1. Unprotected sexual activity: may spread through sexual contact.
2. Trauma to the lower abdomen: damages the skin barrier, allowing pathogens to infect the testicles through the wound.
3. Bladder or urethritis: pathogens ascend via the vas deferens causing infection.
4. Mumps viral infection: the virus spreads to the testicles through the bloodstream, causing infection.
5. Testicular surgery: directly causes infection at the site of the testicle.
If these symptoms occur, prompt medical attention is recommended to avoid delaying treatment.
