How can moles be removed?

I have a relatively large and very noticeable mole on my face. I’ve previously considered using a topical solution to remove it, but a friend told me this method is ineffective and doesn’t provide complete removal. As a result, I’ve left it untreated for years. Could you please advise what safe and effective methods are available for mole removal?

Hello, topical chemical agents (e.g., caustic solutions) can generally remove superficial epidermal nevi, but they are ineffective for deeper nevi. Moreover, improper application of such agents may easily result in scarring and carries relatively significant risks.
Guidance: The optimal method for nevus removal depends on individual circumstances. For raised or relatively large nevi, laser ablation may be appropriate. If a nevus is large, accompanied by satellite lesions, or shows signs of ulceration, surgical excision is recommended.
