Does laser mole removal hurt?
I am 23 years old and want to remove a mole on my back, but I am afraid of pain. I would like to know whether laser mole removal is painful.

In general, laser mole removal does not cause significant pain; however, individual experiences may vary, depending on factors such as personal pain tolerance, the size and depth of the mole, and the techniques used by the physician.
The level of discomfort during laser mole removal varies from person to person, mainly influenced by individual sensitivity to pain, as well as the mole's location and size. Typically, local anesthesia or cooling measures are applied before treatment to reduce discomfort. With these measures, most patients experience only mild pricking or warmth during the procedure, rather than severe pain.
If the treatment area is on regions such as the eyelids or face, where the skin is thinner and nerve endings are more sensitive, the sensation of pain may be more pronounced. Conversely, areas such as the trunk and limbs have thicker skin and fewer nerve endings, so the pain tends to be milder.
To minimize discomfort during laser mole removal, patients are encouraged to communicate fully with their doctor prior to treatment to understand the procedure and any potential discomfort. The physician can then apply topical anesthetics or use surface numbing agents based on the patient's specific condition to reduce pain. Additionally, patients should maintain a relaxed mindset and avoid excessive anxiety, which can heighten pain perception.
