When the liver and gallbladder exhibit excessive internal heat ("fire"), a series of typical symptoms may arise. Physically, individuals may experience a burning sensation and distension pain in the hypochondriac region, dry mouth, bitter taste, bad breath, swollen and painful gums, and other oral discomforts, as well as eye-related issues such as blurred vision, excessive tearing, and dry eyes. Emotionally, patients often become irritable and easily angered, feel restless and anxious, and suffer from insomnia with frequent dreams. Facial signs may include flushed face and red eyes, headache, and dizziness. Digestive functions may also be affected, leading to constipation, dark yellow and scanty urine, and decreased appetite. Female patients may additionally experience menstrual irregularities. These symptoms collectively suggest the possibility of excessive heat in the liver and gallbladder, indicating the need for timely regulation and treatment.
