Symptoms of excessive internal heat in the spleen and stomach
Disease description:
Recently experiencing dry mouth and a red tongue, I went to the hospital for a checkup and was told it's due to excessive internal heat in the spleen and stomach. I would like to know what symptoms are associated with excessive heat in the spleen and stomach.

The symptoms of excessive heat in the spleen and stomach mainly manifest in the following aspects:
1. Oral symptoms: such as mouth and tongue ulcers, bad breath, swollen and painful gums, red and swollen eyes. These occur due to inflammation and ulcers in the mouth caused by excessive heat in the spleen and stomach.
2. Digestive system symptoms: including burning sensation in the stomach, acid reflux, loss of appetite, constipation or dry, hard stools, indicating impaired function and weakened digestive capacity of the spleen and stomach.
3. Systemic symptoms: possible symptoms include abdominal distension, abdominal pain, heavy limbs, yellowish or reddish urine, irritability, and thirst. These systemic discomforts result from disharmony between yin and yang in the spleen and stomach, with excessive yang qi.
To address these symptoms, it is recommended to adjust your diet by avoiding spicy and greasy foods, and consuming more light, heat-clearing foods such as pears, winter melon, and bitter melon. Additionally, maintaining a healthy sleep schedule and emotional well-being is important. If necessary, medications may be taken under a doctor's guidance to help alleviate symptoms.
