Treatment includes scaling and medication. Gingivitis in children is usually caused by poor oral hygiene, leading to plaque buildup on the teeth, which irritates the gums. In such cases, a visit to the pediatric dentistry department at a hospital is recommended. Under a doctor's guidance, scaling can be performed using ultrasonic vibrations directly applied to the gums and tartar, which can help in recovering from gingivitis. For more severe cases of gingivitis in children, antibiotics such as amoxicillin granules or cefixime granules may be prescribed to combat infection. However, it should be noted that cefixime granules are only suitable for infants older than 6 months.
