Causes of Unequal Testicle Size with Swelling and Pain
Disease description:
Recently, I've noticed that my testicles seem to be different in size, and sometimes I experience a feeling of swelling and pain. Could this mean I have inflammation in my testicles? What are the possible causes of having testicles of different sizes along with swelling and pain?
It is normal for the testicles to vary slightly in size, but if there is a significant difference accompanied by a feeling of distension and pain, possible causes may include orchitis, epididymitis, varicocele, and hydrocele.
1. Orchitis: Inflammatory substances irritate the testicle, causing swelling and pain. Epididymitis: Similarly caused by inflammatory irritation, a hardened mass may be felt along with pain.
2. Varicocele: Impaired venous blood flow leads to local swelling and pain.
3. Hydrocele: Accumulation of excessive fluid within the tunica vaginalis cavity causes testicular swelling, which may affect mobility and daily activities in severe cases.
Additionally, conditions such as testicular cysts and testicular tumors may also cause similar symptoms. Patients experiencing such symptoms are advised to seek timely medical evaluation and treatment at a hospital to determine the exact cause and receive appropriate therapeutic interventions.
