How to Determine if You Have Phimosis
Disease description:
I have several friends around me who have already undergone circumcision, and I feel that I might also have a condition of long foreskin. I'm considering having the surgery as well. May I ask how can I determine if I actually have long foreskin?
To determine whether you have phimosis (excessively long foreskin), you can make observations and assessments based on the following aspects:
1. Foreskin retraction: When the penis is flaccid, try to retract the foreskin and observe whether it can be fully and easily pulled back to expose the glans and coronal groove. If the foreskin cannot be fully retracted or retraction is difficult, this may indicate phimosis.
2. Glans exposure: While the penis is flaccid, observe whether most or all of the glans is exposed from under the foreskin. If the glans is mostly or completely covered by the foreskin, this may be a sign of phimosis.
3. Presence of smegma: After retracting the foreskin, check whether white, flaky deposits (smegma) are present on the inner layer of the foreskin or beneath the coronal groove. If smegma is present and difficult to clean, it may be due to phimosis.
4. Urination pattern: Pay attention to whether urine remains after urination or if you need to shake the penis to fully empty your bladder. Such issues may result from phimosis affecting normal urination.
