What causes pain in the collarbone?
Disease description:
In the past few days, I have experienced recurring pain in the collarbone area, causing me unable to sleep. What is the cause of collarbone pain?
Possible causes of clavicle pain may include the following:
1. Overexertion or trauma: Engaging in heavy physical labor, strenuous exercise, or sustaining an injury to the clavicle area can lead to lactic acid buildup, soft tissue damage, or fractures, which may cause clavicle pain.
2. Inflammation and infection: Inflammatory conditions such as clavicular fasciitis, rheumatoid arthritis, or osteomyelitis of the clavicle can also result in clavicle pain, possibly accompanied by symptoms such as redness and swelling.
3. Cervical spondylosis: Cervical spine disease may compress spinal nerves that innervate the clavicle area, causing pain in the clavicle region, and may be accompanied by sensory loss, numbness, or other symptoms.
4. Tumors: Clavicle pain may also be related to tumors or other neoplastic conditions.
Clavicle pain can have various causes, and diagnosis and treatment should be based on the specific clinical situation. If necessary, timely medical consultation is recommended.
