Why do both sides of the collarbone feel sore?
Disease description:
I am quite slim, so my collarbones are more prominent. I've been experiencing severe soreness there for the past two days. I would like to know what could be causing the pain on both sides of my collarbone?
The causes of bilateral clavicular pain may include the following:
1. Trauma: Such as fractures or soft tissue injuries, with a clear history of injury.
2. Myofasciitis: Aseptic muscle inflammation caused by factors such as cold exposure or fatigue. The pain is usually localized and worsens with activity.
3. Cervical spondylosis: When a cervical intervertebral disc herniates and compresses a nerve or nerve root, it may cause pain in the innervated area, often accompanied by radiating pain in the upper extremity.
4. Calcium deficiency: Calcium deficiency can lead to bone loss and may also cause pain.
Bilateral clavicular pain can have various causes and requires diagnosis and treatment based on the specific condition. If the pain persists or worsens, prompt medical attention is recommended.
