Manifestations of Mild Sjögren's Syndrome
Disease description:
There has been a medical knowledge awareness campaign in the neighborhood these past two days. Out of curiosity, I checked it out and learned about Sjögren's syndrome. I would like to know about the symptoms of mild Sjögren's syndrome.
The manifestations of mild Sjögren's syndrome mainly include the following:
1. Dry mouth: Patients often experience a lack of saliva, particularly noticeable at night, requiring frequent water intake for relief.
2. Dry eyes: Discomfort such as dryness, itching, pain, and foreign body sensation in the eyes; some patients may also experience blurred vision.
3. Dry skin: The skin may appear dry, dull, and sometimes accompanied by white flaking.
4. Joint symptoms: Some patients may develop joint swelling and pain, although multi-organ involvement is generally absent.
5. Other symptoms: Additional symptoms may include hoarseness and rashes (e.g., small, red papules with clear borders resembling rice grains).
Although these symptoms may seem mild, patients are advised to seek early diagnosis and treatment at a hospital to control disease progression and improve prognosis.
