What are the symptoms of dental neuritis?
Disease description:
I've been having toothaches lately and I'm wondering if it might be pulpitis. Could you please tell me what symptoms are associated with pulpitis?
Pulpitis is a dental disease whose symptoms mainly include the following aspects:
1. Pain: Patients experience severe tooth pain, which may be paroxysmal, lasting several seconds to 1-2 minutes, and may radiate to areas such as the head and temples. The pain also can manifest as spontaneous or nocturnal, occurring without external stimuli or worsening at night.
2. Sensitivity: Due to damage of the dental nerve, teeth become abnormally sensitive to hot and cold stimuli, causing soreness.
3. Redness and swelling: Inflammatory reactions cause redness and swelling of the gums, possibly accompanied by localized color changes.
4. Loosening: Severe pulpitis may lead to tooth mobility, and even tooth loss.
In addition, patients may experience other symptoms such as halitosis (bad breath) and gingival bleeding. The appearance of these symptoms suggests inflammation of the dental pulp and timely medical treatment is required.
