What medications are selected for the treatment of pulpitis?
Disease description:
I recently suffered from pulpitis and didn't know which medication to choose for treatment. What medication is appropriate for treating pulpitis?

The medical treatment of pulpitis mainly involves the use of antibiotics and analgesics to relieve inflammation and pain.
1. Antibiotics: Commonly used antibiotics include metronidazole, tinidazole, amoxicillin, and cefixime. These medications can inhibit bacterial growth and reduce inflammation. However, it is important to use them under the guidance of a physician to avoid antibiotic misuse.
2. Analgesics: For patients experiencing significant pain, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen sustained-release capsules, diclofenac sodium sustained-release tablets, and acetaminophen can be used. These medications achieve pain relief by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. If the pain is severe and difficult to tolerate, stronger analgesics may be used under the guidance of a physician.
It should be emphasized that while medication can relieve symptoms, it cannot cure pulpitis completely. Effective treatment of pulpitis requires surgical interventions such as pulp capping, pulpotomy, or root canal therapy to eliminate the infection source and restore dental structure.
