What is the B-ultrasound description of early-stage cirrhosis?
Disease description:
My grandfather has been feeling unwell. After undergoing a complete physical examination at the hospital yesterday, the doctor said it was caused by early-stage liver cirrhosis. I would like to know what the ultrasound description of early-stage liver cirrhosis looks like.
The B-ultrasound description of early cirrhosis mainly presents:
1. Liver size: May appear normal or slightly reduced.
2. Liver fissures: Liver fissures may be widened, leading to disproportionate size of the left and right liver lobes.
3. Liver surface: The liver surface may no longer be smooth, presenting an uneven and irregular appearance.
4. Liver parenchymal echogenicity: Liver parenchymal echogenicity becomes coarser, stronger, and uneven, possibly presenting a nodular appearance.
5. Intrahepatic structures: The course of intrahepatic tubular structures may appear disorganized.
6. Portal vein: The portal vein diameter may be widened, indicating portal hypertension.
7. Spleen: Splenomegaly may be present, with spleen thickness greater than 4.0 cm.
