Dr. Liu Feng
Neutrophils, as a type of white blood cell, their normal value in the blood is an important indicator for assessing an individual's health status. Normally, neutrophils should account for 0.40 to 0.75 of all white blood cells, while their absolute value varies depending on age and population groups. 1. Adults: The normal neutrophil count is (1.80 to 6.30) × 10^9/L; some sources indicate a normal range of (2 to 7) × 10^9/L or (4.0 to 10.0) × 10^9/L. 2. Newborns: Full-term newborns have a neutrophil count of approximately 8 × 10^9/L, while premature infants have a count of about 6 × 10^9/L. 3. Infants: One to two months after birth, the lower limit is 2.5 × 10^9/L, and by the age of one year, the normal range is approximately 1.5 × 10^9/L. When the absolute neutrophil count falls below the normal range, it may suggest an infection or other health issues, and timely medical evaluation is recommended.
